Superfood Enzymes, Springtime SPF, and Steaming
Superfood Enzymes and You
Cherry, mango, kiwi, gooseberry, pineapple, and plum – yum! But these fruits are not just for eating, they’re ready to be used as enzymes to transform your skin from feeling the winter woes into spring-ready-wow.
Superfood enzymes exfoliate, brighten and invigorate your skin, making it look and feel its best version of itself. Derived from fruit sources, they fall in between exfoliants like physical scrubs and chemical peels. They work by gently loosening dead skin cells on the surface of the skin without stripping it of its natural barrier. The results are both a glowing complexion and a smoothly silky finish.
Discover for yourself the power of superfood enzymes with the Barbados Cherry Enzyme Cleansing Powder by Eminence Organic Skin Care. Mixing the powder with water creates a gentle, creamy foam which cleans and purifies without irritation. Or, for those with combination or oily skin, you’ll appreciate the superfood enzymes in the Amla Berry Oil Control Pro Enzyme Exfoliant.
Pamper your skin to a before-the-day-starts face masque. Why wait until nighttime when your glowing skin can be seen and felt during the day. Have a mango smoothie at the same time because once you smell the Mango Exfoliating Enzyme Masque, you’ll be craving something tropical to sip while you receive a magical boost of radiance.

Steam = Smooth Skin
Looking back through the ages, steaming has been consistently used around the world for healthy skin. Steam opens pores, flushes out impurities, and removes deeply embedded dirt while supplying hydration and oxygen.
Spring is the perfect time to start a steam routine at home. A weekly at-home steam starts by filling a wide brimmed bowl with hot water from the tap. Next, grab a tea towel and place your face over the bowl, roughly ten inches above the water. Drape the towel over your head so the edges are around the bowl which directs the steam towards your face. Relax and enjoy, breathing slowly and evenly. A few minutes is all you need to achieve great results. And be sure to follow up with your skincare routine.
Please note that using boiling water from a kettle or heated on a stovetop can cause burns, damage and/or irritate both skin and eyes so is not recommended! Additionally, for delicate skin or anyone with conditions like rosacea, steaming can be a trigger so check in with the staff at Glow Spa before trying.
Spring SPF
It’s the time of year when sunny days return so be prepared with your SPF. Check your expiry dates and place your face and body SPF products where you can see, and use them. They do no good in a drawer or at the back of a closet. Likewise, do not store them in a vehicle where temperature swings like hot, and cold can affect the product inside.
SPF should be used anytime you’re outside longer than a few minutes, on both cloudy and sunny days, and remember damage from the sun can travel through windows at work, and in cars. For those of you who bike to work or for pleasure, be sure to apply regularly on all exposed skin, and follow the instructions on the box for reapplication times.
As always, the staff at Glow Spa are there for you when you call, send a message, or pop into the store. Happy self-care in Spring 2025!
